I have inked in my ‘J’ and thickened up my hairlines. Then I scanned it in to my computer. The next step will be to vectorize it in Adobe Illustrator, but you’ll have to wait on another post to see that.
Check out the latest on my YouTube channel. i’m going to follow the letter J all the way from pencil drawing to vector output.
Welcome to 2013!! Here’s my first lettering of the New Year. I took a portion of my sketch from the last post and gave it the Illustrator/Photoshop treatment. After I vectorized the drawing (NOT auto-traced!), I used my sister’s favorite color “purple” to create a nice gradient in Photoshop. I plan to do more of this in the months to come—Please, if you like it “pin” it!
“In the raw”…..get into the mind of a Calligrapher for a moment to see where I start with my letter designs. Here’s a very rough pencil sketch of my New Year graphic. I haven’t decided yet what to do with the final piece…I may re-ink it and pull into Illustrator to create a vector output.
